Palm Pre

The latest contender to Apples Iphone, but i still think the recently introduced touch diamond2 from HTC is better suited for the fight.

The 8GB Palm Pre is still a formidable device, its got multi touch, wi-fi, GPS, an accelerometer and the important addition of a slide out QWERTY keypad, copy and paste, 3 Megapixel camera and MMS functionality.

One important note is that the device does not run windows mobile, its got a new proprietary WebOS, which looks cool and classy.

LG's watch phone

what time is it? Its certainly not the first attempt at creating a watch phone, but i have to say that this is by far the best design of this device that i have ever seen. the LG watchphone comes with a touch screen and HSDPA support, theres even a low res camera for video calling, an MP3 player and text to speech translation functionality, so you can have your text messages read to you in your earpiece.

LG's GD900 with a transparent keypad

when i read about this phone i had to find some pictures, it sound unbelieveable really and even more so when you see the pictures, like there are no visible electronic tracks or inner wiring so how does it know when i have pressed a button and what material is the slider made of. theres still very little info about this device, which seems more like a concept device than anything else, but im sure everyone will look forward to its official launch later in the year but LG has announced the 13.4mm-thick GD900 this week with 7.2Mbps HSDPA and it features the world's first transparent keypad that softly glows when open. The company has also designed a dedicated Bluetooth headset to go along with its latest work of art.

It appears the boffins over at Lenovo are working overtime, churning out some really interesting devices, and they are not bad to look at either. Lenovo's IdeaPad Y650 the 16-inch laptop's packing a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor and X4500 integrated graphics, 1366 x 768widescreen TFT LCD, up to 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 320GB HDD, DVD burner, 6-cell battery, WiFi and Bluetooth. Base price is $1,300, but an extra $100 would get you the 2.53GHz processor and NVIDIA GeForce G105M 256MB graphics card.

Samsungs Blue earth phone

there are not many details on Samsungs proposed Blue Earth handset, a seriously environmentally friendly green phone. Made from PCM, a recycled plastic from water bottles, the phone boast an "eco" mode for efficiently adjusting screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth usage, and an "eco walk" app / built-in pedometer to tell you how much CO2 emission you've saved by walking instead of driving. It's got a giant solar panel on the back that'll apparently charge it enough to make a phone call anytime theres direct sunlight. It'll come in recycled packaging with an energy efficient charger. No word on the OS or hardware specs, also not a word on price yet, but environmentalists can look forward to this one second half of this year.
